...well done!!!
what a week!!!
on wednesday, september 10th finally the first rehearsal with beni schmid and the salzburg strings took place, the first moment which i really looked forward to, full of childish curiosity and excitement, how my musical work (which i named "3 songs for an abandoned angel", concert in 3 movements, by the way) would finally sound live & real...and...what to say?
what an unbelievable moment, what an overwhelming surprise- all above beni, my favourite master interpreter of all times :-)- who really internalized my music.
on this special day i also decided to conduct the concert by myself, and the following two days beni and i both leaded incredible intense rehearsals, hour after hour...until the show on september 12th, on which i had my debut as classical conductor (it´s still hard to believe :-))
the concert (sold out for weeks in advance) at the church in mattsee- the hank concert between haydn & tschaikowsky!-turned into a little triumph...beni and i were so lucky, still at loss for words.
at this point a great t.hank.s to the orchestra who really gave its best.
altogether, it was an exceptional experience for me, to conduct a classical orchestra is a huge challenge, both a physical and mental-spiritual effort on the highest level... and afterwards you feel completely...frantic and over-joyed...mainly if you conduct your own music- an intimate, inner sensation and aural adventure that some how and some time becomes written music which in turn becomes finally an external, sensual experience...
anyhow, afterwards we really hung- beni had his 40th birthday party after the concert- and yes, we (the beni schmid- personal composer & her favourite soloist :-)) decided that this show wasn´t the last one...so let´s say 2009/2010...who knows!

back from DONAUINSELFEST VIENNA...

FIRST SHOW with the brand new "inside"-BAND!
& special guest WILLI RESETARITS...
just performed on the main stage of the donauinselfest vienna yesterday, yet arrived back in peaceful schwöllern again. what to say? still-i´m at loss for words. it´s quite impossible to describe the feelings which afflicted us by opening the greatest festival in vienna, surrounded by that unbelievable scenery.
so i´m not even trying. here are just a few catchwords- may they form some pictures in your head :-)

what to say? ich love you :-) yes!!!
something completely different compared to the past. and it feels so good!
okay, maybe some may say- compared to our last ballad-focused albums "nah an mir" & "inside"- we´ve moved pretty far from the original...so what!
WE REALLY ROCK NOW!!!
(at least our sound-visionar und wizard fips rauchwarther said so :-))
so much for that. it was the first night of the new band- felt like we´ve played for years!- and as dot on the i my much-admired colleague- MISTER SOUL- willi resetarits joined us as a special guest, performing two "twilight"-songs with us... there´s no need to say anything more, i guess.
oh yes. maybe.
I´M LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING THE NEXT GIG!!!

"INSIDE"-CD release party @ UNIVERSAL
after a real wonderfully organized cd release party @ UNIVERSAL in vienna (a very warm t.hank.s to harry gruber, hannes eder, willi resetarits & the entire MC team :-)) i still can´t believe that it already happened...something i hardly dared to dream about a year ago: our german album "nah an mir" (released in february 2007) now has come out as an english, international version, too- entitled "INSIDE" (for audio examples go to "CD RELEASES").
at this point there should be mentioned two men who played an important role for all this to happen: my incredibly talented lyrics partners josh vanderberg and lionel lodge who translated the original songs into the particular other language- t.hank.s folks :-)
anyhow, at the very moment everything is focused on organizing a cd release tour-both at germanspeaking and international places and festivals. and i can´t describe how i´m looking forward to experiencing all that...
hope to see you at one of our concerts and gigs...
till then, i wish u a not too snowy fall :-)

back from summerbreak...
what a summer...!!
i´m at loss for words. it was simply gorgeous.
like every year- at least for the 6th time- i started out on the nunnery wettenhausen (which is nearby günzburg in germany) where i spent two unbelievable inspiring, quiet and contemplative weeks.
i completely dropped out from socalled every day-life and- without any media (internet, TV, radio, mobile etc. etc.)- made my way deep into my inner self.
also this time i could give vent to my ideas and composed some new stuff, but above all i worked over the "twilight songs" which were composed 2 years ago.
and again i made the unbelievable experience about what can change in at least two years!
on the one hand it is natural that every piece is changing the moment it comes to life and is rehearsed- cause every musician adds his own "soul to the shit" :-)- but on the other side it is also really amazing, how your own taste and perception turn different.
well, here we are again: life´s nothing but change :-)
after those wonderful timeout i had a little "civilisation shock"- as you can imagine- but which i got over by a very nice vacation on one of my favourite islands- madeira/portugal.
there i got my fill of fresh energy and strength, which i now can bring into the forthcoming "twilight songs"-concerts, which will be part of a live-recording-cd...hope to see you there!

film shooting
what a week...!
just came back from a film shooting for a 3sat portrait (a new broadcast, a mixture of artist´s portrait & journey documentary, 45 minutes) and i´m completely worn out- but very happy.
after 4 14-hours days, in which i- together with the incredible wonderful team of PRE TV- had the possibility to reconnoiter the austrian waldviertel, i returned back to the austrian mountainside of salzburg country... filled up with so many new impressions & sources of inspiration...and, of course, i am completely curious about the final result of the shooting- the exact broadcast date will follow!

celebrating birthday on the road...
after a wonderful concert of "twilight songs" on may 1st in steyr (austria)- more snapshots u will find in our backstage corner!- my wonderful collegue and friend- the great willi resetarits- serenaded me at least with two wonderful birthday songs- one at midnight after our show, and one on the next day, at the "stubnblues"-concert at the orpheum in graz (austria)-guess who totally blushed with emotion :-)
at this point: thanks again to all birthday greetings which arrived me on this day- really enjoyed it!

who ever would have told me that there will be, additional to my new album-release "inside", the matching bag, i wouldn´t have believed it-not at all!well, everybody makes a mistake sometimes :-)
here it is:
in practical upright format, u can put in your laptop and many other things...at the moment only available @ live concerts, for the price of € 30,-.

bösendorfer ceus keyboard
back home...
like so often, returned home from the city (vienna)- this time i had the pleasure of visiting the piano factory of my endorser, boesendorfer, to try out the prototype of the absolute worldwide new product, the
BÖSENDORFER CEUS KEYBOARD:
the first keyboard of bösendorfer which offers the wonderful original piano mechanics, combined with the unique sound samples of the bösendorfer imperial which are also part of the the vienna symphonic library.
a sound experience close to heaven on earth...
this instrument, which i think will satisfy a complete new sector in music industry (especially in pop and jazz music) is in stage of development at the moment, and will officially be out in about a year!

back from the studio
well done... :-)after a very intensive studio week at tripbox studio in vienna where we recorded the english version of the album "nah an mir"- which will be entitled "inside" and released in some months- approximately in fall 2007, at universal international- i just got back home into the snowy mountainside of salzburg where i will prepare the following gigs... hope to see u there!
